BondTech Extruder Mini for Wanhao i3

The BondTech Mini with dual-drive gears grips the filament from both sides without slipping. The upgrade kit is compatible with the Wanhao I3 3D printer.

The smaller effective diameter of the drive increases the torque by about 50% and the resolution is also increased by 50%. This increases the E-Step value to 140 steps / mm.

The filament is fully guided, allowing the extruder to handle both hard and extremely soft filaments well. The drive gear is also made of hardened steel and is therefore wear-resistant when using abrasive filaments.

Filaments can easily be changed thanks to the quick-release lever.

This kit uses the original stepper motor that comes with the printer and can be installed in about 1 hour. A step-by-step manual is included.

The kit contains the following:

• Extruder parts made of nylon with thread inserts
• Hardened, steel drive gears
• Needle bearings
• Hardened ground shaft
• Bolts M3x45

For easy installation, BondTech produces the brackets for the Wanhao i3 and i3 Plus. These can be found in the accessories' section.

The original metal plate holding the extruder needs to be modified.
This can easily be done using a metal saw and a file.

The maximum movement of the X-axis is limited to approx. 15 mm on the right side.

E-Step must be set to 140 steps / mm. (with the LCD panel)

Note:

Version 2.1 of the Wanhao i3 has a different part cooling fan case. As a result, the housing is lower than the nozzle. A custom printed part of the housing may be used instead.
