Description

Since the majority of 3D printers are not used for materials that require processing above 300 °, the 300 ° C thermistor replaces the previous 450C HT thermistor from Slice Engineering.

The new, powerful thermistor measures temperatures from room temperature to 300 ° C. It is therefore no longer necessary to use two thermistors for normal and high temperatures.

A 3 mm connector and a 2 m long cable guarantee high compatibility with most standard 3D printers.

What is that little (short) separate thermistor cartridge for?

  That is a 5mm filler shaft designed to fill the gap the 15mm thermistor leaves in the heater block, it conducts heat well so that the thermistor can measure heat from all sides
Is this thermistor a drop in replacement with regards to wiring? Or do I need to change something in the firmware or mainboard?

  This would depend on the thermistor you used prior to this. The correct temp sensor in the firmware for this thermistor is 5 which is the same as e3d hotends so if you had one of those there are no changes necessary.
How do I set this up in unified 2 firmware tried setting max temp to 300 and setting thermistor to 5. When i come to PID autotune it will not take that temp
