Description
Polywood ™ is a wood-imitating print material. The material itself contains no wood to guarantee trouble-free printing.
All previous wood filaments are based on wood-polymer composites, that is a mixture of polymer and chopped wood powder. Polymaker has a completely different approach. Instead of imitating wood with wood, Polymaker invented a unique foaming technology that structurally mimics the wood. Polywood ™ is completely made of plastic. This gives you the best printing results without the risk of nozzle clogging.
Polywood ™ is the only 3D printable foam to date. The density of Polywood is on average 0.8 g / cm3, which is about 35 - 40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component has a lower weight.
Because the polywood contains no wood, it is possible to combine any colour with the material. The printed parts have an amazing surface finish and the visual layering is minimized. More colours and materials are already under development.

It is ok, but not as woody as filaments with wood fibre.
