Description

Polywood ™ is a printing material that imitates the structure of wood. The material itself does not contain any wood for smooth printing results guaranteed.

All previous wood filaments are based on sandwich polymer sandwich composites, that is a mixture of polymer and chopped wood powder. Polymaker has a completely different approach. Instead of imitating wood with wood, Polymaker has invented a unique foaming technology that mimics the structure of the wood. Polywood ™ is completely made of plastic. This will give you the best results without the risk of nozzle clogging.

Polywood ™ is currently the only 3D printable foam on the market. Polywood has an average density of 0.8 g / cm3, which is about 35-40% less than PLA. Due to the low density, the component is lighter in weight.

Because Polywood contains no wood, it is possible to add colors to the material. The printed parts have an amazing finish and visual layering is minimized. More colors and materials are already in development.
