Elegoo Mars Pro
The predecessor, the Elegoo Mars, achieved a very high popularity as a high-quality and inexpensive entry-level LCD printer. In addition to the numerous compliments, there were of course suggestions for improvement, which have been collected over the years and have now been implemented in the new Elegoo Mars Pro. The predecessor was already a very good printer and now Elegoo has set the standard even higher.
New matrix light source
The new matrix light source has been revised and consists of 28 50W UV LED lights, which have a more uniform exposure. This not only improves the accuracy but also a faster exposure time of up to 25%. The Mars Pro only needs 45 seconds on average for the first layer and 6 seconds for the other layers.
New linear guide rail
The Z-axis now has the new linear guide rail. The guide is now considerably more stable, which leads to a more even movement and significantly improved movement accuracy. This leads to better printing results and smoother surfaces.
Less smell
When working with an LCD 3D printer, the smell of resin could become very annoying over time. To combat this problem, the Mars Pro has a built-in activated carbon filter, which significantly reduces the smell. The air is now first cleaned through the filter to ensure a safer and fresher user experience for you.
In addition to the activated carbon filter, the Mars Pro has a rubber seal so that the air can only escape through the filter in the best possible way.
Improved platform
The new printing platform has new non-slip Allen screws. This leads to a more stable levelling.
In addition, the printing platform has a special surface texture to significantly improve the adhesion. This leads to a much higher success rate because the printed parts adhere much better to the platform.
Easier to use
The user interface has been redesigned in a simple and dark design to make it even more user-friendly. In addition, the USB port has now been moved forward, which is much more practical than on Mars. With the Mars Pro, you no longer have to move the printer to get to the USB port.

The Elegoo Mars Pro is wonderful.
Working with resin has been something of a learning curve.
Supports etc have a different function to those used in filament printing.
It's still early days for Chitubox. Be prepared for somewhat clanky workflow.
One tiny issue, the face masks included were missing the earl loops on one side. No big deal since I have plenty of masks due to the current pandemic. But I'd still advise people to get their own gloves and masks in advance. You'll use a lot of them until you get used to the washing/ curing process.
It would be nice if Elegoo supplied one spare FEP sheet. But that is minor.

Arrived in good condition and setting up doesn't take long. Well built for the price. Had a few issues initially but with a bit of help from the forums now producing my own CAD designs at will. Onto figures soon then perhaps 3D modelling. Not sure how I am going to get on at the end of the current lockdown.

My first 3D printer. First prints resulted in smudged disks stuck to the bottom of the tank. Needs some rethinking on how to prepare models for printing and also needs a good, forgiving resin. Great fun though! Quiet, simple process. Machine seems very well made and the included software gets you up and running within minutes of unboxing.

Elegoo Mars Pro is amazing

I purchased this resin printer to produce small models for an 00 gauge model railway. The quality of prints it can produce is astounding even for tiny details. The kit comes literally with everything you need to get started, except for the actual resin to print, and the IPA and paper towels to clean everything up. So order those on the same day to avoid disappointment after you have set the printer up!
It even comes with a few gloves which is a god-send during the COVID-19 pandemic as gloves are priced like gold. the gloves are pretty strong and durable. I even clean and reuse my gloves multiple times using a dash of IPA and out of say 20 prints, only one glove has failed.
The packaging ensures the product will arrive in good condition and the instructions are very clear. This is my first foray into 3D printing and for small detailed models I'd recommend this. I have had a few model failures but I have also had many successes. I just need to learn how to orient and support the models to get the best from this 3D resin printer.
