Description

The UNO R3 Super Starter Kit from Elegoo offers the ideal introduction to the world of programming and electronics! With its 24 detailed tutorial lessons, the kit is particularly suitable for children aged 10 and over who are interested in the basics of the Arduino software IDE and want to learn how sensors controlled with a UNO board work.

Features:

► 74HC595 chip

The UNO R3 board is equipped with a 74HC595 chip. This serial-to-parallel converter has 8 outputs and 3 inputs that feed in data bit by bit via pins called "Data" and "Clock" (memory locations as 1 or 0).

4-digit 7-segment display

7-segment displays typically have 7 LEDs, called segments, arranged in an 8-shape. With the 4-digit, 7-segment display with only one digit, the individual segments of each digit are controlled independently of one another. However, if four digits are controlled at the same time, this happens so quickly that the human eye perceives it as if four digits were being displayed at the same time.

Such a circuit allows you to display specific numbers or build a more complex count-up timer.

► DC Stepper Motor

Stepper motors are DC motors that consist of several coils arranged in so-called "phases". Each of the phases is energised in turn, causing the motor to rotate step by step.

When the stepper control of the motor is computer-controlled, extremely precise positioning and consistent speeds develop. If you use a breakout for the ULN2003A transistor array chip, you can connect a stepper motor to Arduino! It is important to note that voltage is applied to each of the coils in a specific order.
