YouTube Episode: This Part Is Strong And Stiff....But Hollow!

What happens when CoffeeBlack, physics and Tom Stanton (or Tim Station) meet? A part that's hollow on the inside but as strong as a concrete block - or something like that.

In our latest YouTube video "This Part Is Strong And Stiff... But Hollow!", our in-house filament whisperer shows you how to design super-strong lightweight parts with more walls, less infill and some Tom Stanton style engineering magic. The secret behind it is pure physics: material where the forces act, and air where there's nothing to do. Or to put it simply: strategically placed air makes your design more durable than you thought! So it's no wonder that the video ended up on Hackaday in less than three days - air seems to be really trending right now.

Fun fact for hardcore fans: the video even includes a brief appearance by a young CoffeeBlack, who can be considered a "beta version." He resembles the older CoffeeBlack, but with a fuller beard, a lot more innocence in his eyes, and just as much spice in his speech.

Check it out and indulge yourself in some intriguing printing physics!
