PROXXON THERMOCUT 230/E Hot Wire Cutter

The PROXXON THERMOCUT 230/E is a high-precision hot wire cutter designed for architectural and scale modeling, prototyping, as well as design, decoration, and artistic crafts.

The unit features a sturdy body with a 390 × 280 mm work surface made of Alu-Cobond composite. The specialized surface texture allows for smooth, controlled gliding of the workpiece, while a printed grid and angle markings support exact cuts and precise handling. The solid aluminum bow offers a 350 mm throat (reach) and a 140 mm height clearance. It is equipped with an adjustable spool holder that enables miter cutting by simply sliding the wire. Additionally, the dual-function fence with a lockable guide rail supports precise operation, allowing for both secure material guidance and repeatable cuts at a constant distance.

For safe and convenient operation, an LED indicator signals when the heating wire is active. The cutting wire reaches its operating temperature in less than a second, allowing for immediate, precise cutting.

Pro Tip: A spool containing 30 m of cutting wire (Ø 0.2 mm) is included in the box.

Note: The THERMOCUT 230/E is exceptionally safe to operate thanks to its integrated isolation transformer and Class 2 protective insulation. The heating elements operate at 10V and 1.0A, ensuring reliable performance while prioritizing user safety.
