Description
The Prusa Prusament ASA (acrylonitrile styrene acrylate) is a technical 3D printing material with properties similar to ABS, but with key improvements. It offers high durability, reliable printability and excellent resistance to environmental influences.
Compared to ABS, ASA is UV-stable, making it far more suitable for long-term outdoor use. Printed parts retain their mechanical properties even under prolonged exposure to sunlight and are significantly less prone to yellowing. ASA also exhibits reduced shrinkage, which helps to minimise warping and improve dimensional accuracy.
Prusa ASA stands out for its toughness and impact resistance, making it suitable for a wide range of technical applications. Its temperature resistance is particularly noteworthy: the material shows no significant deformation at temperatures of up to approximately 93 °C, outperforming common materials such as PLA or PETG.
Thanks to its combination of weather resistance, mechanical stability and temperature tolerance, ASA is ideal for durable components, housings, brackets and parts intended for continuous outdoor use.
