The Prusa Prusament PETG is a versatile, high-performance filament designed for functional and mechanically demanding 3D printed parts. Its balanced combination of strength, toughness and temperature resistance makes it an excellent choice for technical applications, prototypes and durable functional components - and it is even used in the production of parts for Prusa printers.

A key benefit of PETG is its excellent layer adhesion, resulting in strong, dense parts. This makes printed components suitable for water-resistant applications both indoors and outdoors. Compared to PLA, PETG is considerably tougher and less brittle, meaning it is less likely to crack or fail under mechanical stress.

The “G” in PETG stands for glycol-modified PET. This modification reduces brittleness, improves printability and enhances clarity in semi-transparent variants. PETG also features low thermal expansion, so even larger prints are less prone to warping or lifting from the print bed - often without the need for an enclosed build chamber.
