During the Second World War, the German military used the Stuka Dive Bomber as an extension of the artillery. Starting with the Polish campaign in 1939, the Stuka delivered precise bombing raids before artillery units were deployed. The G-1 "Tank Buster" was the last version of the aircraft and played an important role against Russian tanks on the Eastern Front.
