Description
The Anycubic Kobra 3 Max V2 is an FDM 3D printer with a build volume of 420 x 420 x 500 mm, a print speed of up to 600 mm/s and an 800 W heated bed that reaches 60°C in just 125 seconds. With a total print volume of 88 litres, it is a great choice for those who want to print large individual models, decorative objects or functional XXL parts without compromising on speed or reliability.
► Main differences between Kobra 3 Max and Kobra 3 Max V2:
| Kobra 3 Max | Kobra 3 Max V2 | |
|---|---|---|
| X-axis moving parts | standard bearings | upgraded SG15 precision bearings for reduced ringing & vibrations |
| Hotend / nozzle | standard quick-swap hotend | improved sealed nozzle assembly; optimised ceramic composite channel, temperatures up to 350 °C |
| Auto levelling | LeviQ 2.x | LeviQ 3.0 auto levelling, improved area levelling, fewer Z-offset deviations |
| Gantry camera | no integrated camera | standard 720p gantry camera |
| Y-axis drive | dual-motor Y-axis | dual-motor Y-axis with optimised semi-automatic belt tensioning structure |
| Z-axis structure | dual lead screws | optimised lead screw and wheel assembly tolerances |
88-litre build volume for big ideas
With a print volume of 420 x 420 x 500 mm, the Kobra 3 Max V2 can print models that would exceed the limits of other standard desktop printers. Larger objects such as dog houses, furniture components, full-size children’s toys or complete architectural models can be printed in one piece, without splitting them into parts and then glueing them together later.
LeviQ3.0: finding the perfect first layer automatically
The LeviQ3.0 levelling system automatically measures the build plate and compensates for unevenness before printing begins. This significantly reduces problems with first-layer adhesion and makes manual adjustment practically unnecessary.
Dual Y-axis motors to help prevent skipped steps
Two motors drive the Y-axis together. This improves stability during fast movements across the full build depth and reduces skipped steps and layer shifts, especially on large-format prints.
Active flow control for cleaner surfaces
Using the Kobra OS firmware, the printer automatically adjusts the flow factor to suit the filament being used before the print starts. In combination with resonance calibration via an integrated accelerometer, corners, edges and surfaces appear visibly cleaner.
Belt tensioning almost by itself
Through alternating movements of the print platform and extruder, the Kobra 3 Max V2 automatically adjusts the belt tension on the X and Y axes. This helps ensure consistent stability, especially for large-format and multicolour prints, without manual retensioning with tools.
Up to 600 mm/s for speed without compromise
Thanks to SG15 precision bearings and a dual-axis Core design, the printer reaches a maximum speed of 600 mm/s with acceleration of up to 10,000 mm/s². For everyday use, Anycubic recommends a standard speed of 300 mm/s, which is said to complete a classic Benchy boat in around 18 minutes.
800 W heated bed for 60 °C in 125 seconds
The 800 W AC heated bed reaches 60 °C in just 125 seconds, around 38% faster than the Kobra 2 Max. A current monitoring system continuously checks the heating circuit, while the heated bed housing is made from V0 flame-retardant material.
Replaceable hotend up to 350 °C
The all-metal hotend heats up to 350 °C and covers PLA, PETG and TPU. A quick-swap system allows the nozzle to be changed without tool clutter, with 0.25, 0.6 and 0.8 mm variants available alongside the standard 0.4 mm nozzle for fine details or particularly fast material flow.
Precise alignment of the spring steel sheet
A two-point alignment system ensures that the spring steel build plate sits securely and stably after installation. This reduces the calibration effort after each plate change to a minimum.
Intelligent monitoring with optional camera
With a separately available camera, which is not included in delivery, the printer can automatically detect typical print failures such as spaghetti prints and selectively skip individual failed objects in batch prints without cancelling the entire print job. In the event of a power failure, the Kobra 3 Max V2 automatically resumes printing from where it stopped.
Anycubic Slicer Next and app control
The new Anycubic Slicer Next is based on an open-source engine and offers one-click slicing with preconfigured material profiles, as well as support for multi-plate print jobs and common file formats such as 3MF, STL, STEP, SVG, OBJ, AMF and PLY. The printer can also be monitored and controlled flexibly via the Anycubic app and a LAN connection.
