Description
The QIDI Tech Plus5 Combo combines the QIDI Plus5 with a QIDI Box to create a set for multi-material and multicolour printing. The Plus5 features a 320 x 320 x 300 mm build volume, a hotend capable of reaching up to 370 °C and active chamber heating up to 65 °C. The QIDI Box adds up to four spool slots with automatic material recognition and filament changing. By linking multiple QIDI Boxes, up to 16 colours and materials can be used in a single print job.
Larger 320 x 320 x 300 mm build volume
The Plus5 offers a significantly larger build volume than its predecessor, the Plus4. With 320 x 320 x 300 mm of space, larger models, cosplay parts, RC components and small production runs can be printed in one go without having to split large models into separate sections. The improved use of space removes volume limitations from your ideas and makes the Plus5 an ideal tool for ambitious projects.
Next-generation motion system for flawless surfaces
The completely redesigned motion system delivers sharp detail and consistently high print quality:
- 1.5GT custom belts for higher density, smoother motion and reduced VFA (Vertical Fine Artefacts),
- upgraded X-axis linear rails for smooth movement and a long service life,
- lightweight toolhead for reduced inertia, cleaner edges and consistent surface quality,
- automatic belt tensioning and high-hardness linear guide rails.
Nozzle-as-sensor for a perfect first layer without offset
Instead of using an external bed levelling sensor, the Plus5 uses the nozzle itself as the sensor. An integrated load-cell sensor in the hotend detects direct physical contact with the print bed without offset, without unnecessary calibration steps and without being affected by ambient vibrations or build plate materials. The result is exceptional first-layer accuracy and a clean start to every print.
3rd-generation active chamber heating up to 65 °C
The third-generation active chamber heating maintains a constant 65°C with active air circulation. This allows demanding high-temperature filaments such as ABS, PC, ASA, PA, PPS-CF, PA6-CF, PET-CF and PAHT-CF to be printed without warping issues. Combined with a 320 x 320 mm silicone heating mat with dense heating wire and insulation, the Plus5 provides highly even heat distribution.
Active toolhead cooling works as an "air conditioner" for the extruder
The active toolhead cooling works like a small air-conditioning system directly at the print head. Strong airflow reduces heat creep and helps prevent clogs, even during long print runs. Combined with chamber heating, the Plus5 balances a hot chamber for warp-free printing with a cool extruder for reliable extrusion.
Next-Gen 370°C hotend
The newly designed hotend reaches nozzle temperatures of up to 370°C and supports a material flow rate of up to 40 mm³/s. This makes the Plus5 not only fast, but also suitable for demanding high-performance filaments, from PLA and PC to PPS-CF.
The setup also includes:
- direct extruder with hardened dual-gear drive gears,
- ceramic heater plate with multi-metal construction,
- bimetal nozzle – standard 0.4 mm, optional 0.2 / 0.6 / 0.8 mm.
Optional: multi-material printing with up to 16 colours
With the compatible QIDI Box, available separately, the Plus5 supports multicolour and multi-material printing with up to 16 colours, including support filaments. The QIDI Box also features integrated chamber heating up to 65°C and an effortless auto-refill function for uninterrupted printing.
Comprehensive safety assurance
The Plus5 is designed for safe operation:
- 3-layer air filtration with G3 pre-filter + H12 HEPA + coconut-shell activated carbon: filters up to 99.5% of dust and airborne particles;
- multi-sensor closed-loop temperature control: monitors all relevant temperature zones, including the nozzle, chamber and heated bed;
- flame-retardant chamber construction for maximum safety;
- AI camera with anomaly detection: actively detects typical issues such as spaghetti prints or foreign objects.
Smart status display with LED lighting
A full-colour LED status light directly on the heated bed shows the current printer status at a glance, including sleep mode, print preparation, print progress and warnings.
All-new QIDI software ecosystem
The Plus5 is part of the newly developed QIDI software ecosystem, designed to integrate hardware and software seamlessly:
- QIDI Studio Slicer: optimised for high-speed printing, with multi-printer group control,
- QIDI Maker: new model platform with thousands of curated designs available to download free of charge,
- QIDI Mobile App: remote printer control, status monitoring and one-tap printing directly from your smartphone,
- expertly optimised parameter library: clean overhangs, precise complex geometries and stable extrusion, even with engineering-grade filaments,
- Klipper open-source firmware: full customisability for advanced users,
- compatibility with popular slicers such as Orca and PrusaSlicer.
The QIDI Box by Qidi Tech is a smart filament station that automatically recognises materials, keeps spools permanently dry and handles filament changes on its own. It uses NFC to identify loaded QIDI filaments and apply the appropriate print settings directly, removing the need for manual adjustments. When a spool runs out, the box automatically switches to the next roll, helping reduce print interruptions and material waste.
For colourful or multi-material projects, up to four QIDI Boxes can be linked together, allowing up to 16 filaments to be used at the same time. The hardened steel dual-gear extrusion system ensures reliable feeding, even with demanding composite filaments such as carbon or glass fibre-reinforced materials. Both breakaway and water-soluble support structures can be printed and removed with ease when using the box.
During printing, the QIDI Box keeps its spools dry at a constant 65 °C, helping to reduce stringing and support print accuracy. For safety, a PTC fuse and two temperature sensors monitor operation in real time and automatically shut the box down if unusual values are detected. This is complemented by real-time humidity monitoring, automatic filament clog detection, an airtight seal against moisture and a modular design for quick spool changes.
► Compatible filament spools:
- 1.75 mm filament diameter,
- spool width from 50–72 mm,
- outer diameter from 195–202 mm.
