Great option if using hardened nozzles and not swapping much
I used stock hotend with E3D Nozzle X (not obxidian) and because it is a hardened nozzle then it slowly started to damage the soft aluminium, and thus started to leak first from the bottom and later from the top. At the third leak I decided to change it.
I was at first reluctant and was thinking about Revo for Mini but I do not change nozzles at all - once installed it stays there for months.
I decided to get Slice Engineering upgrade kit - especially that all other parts bought separately would be more expensive, even without the nozzle.
Installation is super easy, components quality is great - I was quite surprised how small it is. During the installation I noticed that the thermistor and the heater move a bit freely inside (even with a thermal paste) and was worried it may cause issues. Locked it in with a screw as intended, the elements still moved, was really suspecting this will be a problem.
After replacement and initial first layer calibration I print Prusa Mini+ on 6.1.2 firmware with InputShaping profiles with PETG and I am really impressed - no need to bump temperatures, no stringing, nozzle is clean and even if something happens then it is super easy to clean.
Also no need to adjust the thermistor/heater, so apparently it works as intended, even if I was concerned about it.
I started to experiment with 'Tune Speed' in the menu of the printer, and now I can read 255% speed (max available) and of course it makes quality degrade due how firmware changes certain moves, but the quality is still there.
Worth every money spent on it.
